Travis Kelce to Participate in New Sport Amid NFL Retirement Rumors

Travis Kelce has been committed to play at a golf event next month, as retirement rumors continue to make headlines. The star will attend the tournament next month along with several other popular sports figures.

Travis Kelce to play golf on February 4th

According to recent reports, Travis Kelce will play golf at the Waste Management Phoenix Open Annexus Pro-Am on Wednesday, February 4. Tournament Chairman Jason Eisenberg announced the Kansas City Chiefs star’s participation in a news release.

“Travis Kelce is one of the most accomplished and recognizable athletes of his generation,” Eisenberg stated. “His championship pedigree, competitive mindset, and star power make him a tremendous addition to the Annexus Pro-Am and an exciting presence for our fans during tournament week.”

Kelce is among the several major athletes who are committed to playing at the Pro-Am event. They include Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Carli Lloyd, and Emmitt Smith. Additionally, Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride, Budda Baker, and Zaven Collins will make their debut at the star-studded event.

Kelce’s participation in the golf event comes amidst growing anticipation regarding his potential retirement. The star tight end has yet to announce whether he will hang up his cleats after the 2025 NFL season. Speculation surrounding his exit further skyrocketed following the Chief’s elimination from the playoffs this season after losing to the Chargers.

Kelce’s most recent update regarding his future in the league came during a New Heights podcast episode earlier this month. Speaking with his brother and co-host Jason Kelce, he said that he plans on “just being a regular human for a couple weeks, maybe a month or so, trying to figure out what I’m gonna do next in terms of my future in football.”

On a more positive note, Kelce added, “At the same time, if my body can heal up and rest up and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18, 20, 21-week run, I think I would do it in a heartbeat.”

As the retirement rumors continue to buzz, fans are also eagerly anticipating Kelce’s upcoming nuptials with his fiancée, Taylor Swift.
