Netflix has unveiled the first look and release date for its upcoming horror series. Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, developed under the Duffer brothers’ Upside Down Pictures banner, is set to arrive later this spring. Netflix has officially set a release date for its upcoming horror limited series Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. The streamer has confirmed that the show will debut globally on March 26, 2026. Moreover, it has released the first official images from the project. These offer an early look at its lead characters and eerie atmosphere.
Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen follows Rachel Harkin and Nicky Cunningham as they travel to his family’s secluded vacation home for their upcoming wedding. However, the celebration soon becomes tense as troubling events begin to surface in the days before the ceremony. Set over the course of a single week, the series chronicles the growing strain on the couple and those around them.
Camila Morrone and Adam DiMarco headline the cast as Rachel Harkin and Nicky Cunningham respectively. They are joined by Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine, Gus Birney, Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Zlatko Burić, Sawyer Fraser and Karla Crome, among others.
The first look images released by Netflix introduce several of the principal characters. This includes Morrone’s Rachel, DiMarco’s Nicky, Birney’s Portia and Jennifer Jason Leigh’s Victoria, offering an early glimpse at the tone of the series.
Filming took place in Mississauga, Ontario, beginning in January 2025 and wrapping in May of the same year. The series is created by Haley Z. Boston and executive produced by Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer through their Upside Down Pictures company.
Weronika Tofilska directs the show and also serves as an executive producer. Furthermore, Hilary Leavitt and Andrea Sperling are executive producers, while Axelle Carolyn and Lisa Brühlmann are among the additional directors.
