AI Fruit & Veggies Are Rating People’s Cooking Habits on TikTok

People are turning to AI fruit and veggies on TikTok to improve their cooking knowledge and habits. The surprising part, however, isn’t the ignorance, but that it’s become a trend that’s gaining traction. These virtual produce stars are offering food-related advice, often with a dash of humor and personality.

Viral AI fruit and veggies are teaching cooking habits to people on TikTok

In a surprising turn of events, viral AI-generated fruit and veggies are sharing cooking tips and tricks with social media users. Thousands of videos featuring AI-generated fruit and veggies are popping up on TikTok feeds, sharing tips on nutrition and storage.

The concept behind these videos is simple. AI-generated characters, often anthropomorphic fruit and veggies, share their “expert” advice on cooking and nutrition. For example, a talking tomato might urge viewers not to store them in the fridge. A pasta character begs to be cooked al dente. The videos are designed to be engaging, entertaining, and easy to remember.

“Its like cocomelon for adults,” commented a viewer. The comparison, although funny, has resonated with netizens who often shy away from asking crucial questions in fear of judgment. “As a 35-year-old who is currently becoming an adult, these are helpful,” wrote another user.

Media psychologist Dr. Pamela Rutledge explains why people are drawn to the AI-generated characters. “Cartoons and clearly non-human characters short-circuit that,” she says. “A cartoon vegetable can give advice (and even call you names) without threatening your ego, so it’s easier to comply.”

“While Google assumes that users know what to ask, want options and are willing to evaluate sources. Our brains are lazy, so we are happy to pay attention to something that reduces information to “good enough,” requiring minimal judgment, that is also entertaining,” Rutledge added.

With their growing impact, some adults are hoping the educational AI videos will expand beyond cooking tips to cover other essential life skills. “This should be a new kids show, and then they should do one on filing taxes and starting a 401k,” commented an impressed netizen.
