Chrissy Teigen on Restarting Sobriety Journey: ‘No Desire To Turn Back’

Chrissy Teigen has always been upfront about her sobriety. She has once again opened up about her return to sobriety for a second time after relapsing a few months ago. The television personality detailed her journey in a lengthy Instagram post, narrating her ordeal and what caused her to break her sobriety momentarily.

Chrissy Teigen talks ‘quiet and consistent’ patterns while breaking sobriety

Chrissy Teigen is sober again. She previously went online about her choice to abstain from alcohol in 2022. But the author announced last May on her social media post that she had let alcohol “back” into her life after being sober for over a year.

However, on Tuesday, on her Instagram post, the television personality revealed that she has once again turned sober and has been sober for the last 52 days.

She even credited her “Summer House” star Carl Radke for his support in her journey. Moreover, Teigen even revealed why she decided to break her sobriety for a brief period.

In the post, Teigen admitted that after “being sober for a little over a year,” she “went back to drinking,” promising herself that “it would be in a ‘mindful’ way.”

The mother of four decided to quit sobriety for a brief period to enjoy “a glass of wine on a date night” with her husband, John Legend, and also “to be able to toast on birthdays.”

But soon things went south as her drinking time “went from 6pm, to 5, to 4, to aw hell, it’s lunch, why not. When it got to 11am, I was like, oh f***, here we go again.”

And contrary to what is expected, the 40-year-old states that her drinking was not the kind where one “slur your words and miss a step on the stairs. It was just quiet and consistent.”

Nevertheless, things changed for good, and she “stopped drinking again” after talking to Radke. She even decides to abstain from drinking because she “had been in talks for Star Search.”

The model was certain “there was absolutely no f***ing way I’d do it with alcohol in my dressing room.” But now, Teigen is “52 days sober again with no desire to turn back,” she revealed in her post.
