In the midst of speculation surrounding her professional plans, Ariana Grande has finally addressed the rumors swirling around a potential career break. Considering how the pop sensation has been churning out hits, touring non-stop, and starring in the “Wicked” films since 2021, a break sounds well-deserved.
Ariana Grande reveals if she will take a break in the future
Ariana Grande has opened up about taking a break from her music career, citing the need for balance in her life after over a decade of intense work. The Positions hitmaker spilled the tea to Vogue Japan in a recent cover story.
“I think that it would probably be healthy to [take a break],”the pop sensation said. “I’m not used to taking breaks,” she continued when asked directly whether she’s planning to step away anytime soon. “But yeah, these past few years have been pretty nonstop. And by few, I mean 15.”
“Balance is the goal for the next 15 years … I don’t think they will look like the previous 15 years. I think there will be more balance,” Grande added.
Ariana Grande has been vocal about slowing down her music career, having released seven albums between 2013 and 2024, with six of them topping the Billboard 200 chart. Her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour might be her last major tour for a while, as the two-time Grammy winner is hinting at shifting her focus towards acting and other creative pursuits.
“I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time,” Ariana Grande had said in November on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast. “So I’m going to give it my all. I think that’s why I’m doing it, because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah. For now.’”
Ariana Grande’s focus seems to be shifting towards acting, particularly after her success in the Wicked films. She’s recently wrapped filming for the Meet the Parents movie. Moreover, the singer will star in the West End revival of Saturday in the Park With George alongside Jonathan Bailey.
