An SNL cast member has addressed the dating rumors linking him with pop star Sabrina Carpenter. In a recent interview, the comedian has set the record straight about his dating life.

Marcello Hernández has shut down all dating rumors linking him with Sabrina Carpenter. In his recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the Saturday Night Live star declared that he is currently in a happy relationship with his girlfriend.
During the conversation, Shepard said that he is “newly obsessed” with Carpenter thanks to his daughter. The host then proceeded to ask Hernández, “If I’m you again and I’m 28, I’m going to try to date her with all my might. Are you not trying your hardest to marry her?”
Hernández responded, “I’m in a relationship,” adding, “Yeah, I’m in a relationship with a Dominican girl. She’s an architect. She’s unreal. She went to Yale.” The SNL star has been reportedly dating Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral for a while. The couple made their red carpet debut at the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere in July 2025.
Even so, Hernández gushed about working with Carpenter, calling the pop sensation “really funny and cool.” The star also said, “Sabrina’s really, like, she’s down, she’s down to clown. She’s down to think of something funny. She’s an actress.”
The romance rumors reportedly stemmed from Carpenter’s guest appearance on SNL, where she famously shared the screen with Hernández for the viral “Domingo” sketch and several other on-screen collaborations. Previously, the “Espresso” hitmaker had “arrested” the SNL comedian at a 2024 Los Angeles concert during her Short n’ Sweet tour.
Hernández and Carpenter share a close friendship and professional familiarity, having worked with each other on multiple SNL projects. Praising her comedic instinct, Hernández said, “The Domingo thing was big, and she was all about it, and it was so cool.”
