Taylor Swift’s Fiancé Thinks She’ll ‘Kill Him’ After Missing ‘Wood’ Reference

Taylor Swift‘s fiancé, Travis Kelce, nearly missed the “Wood” reference, which turned into a hilarious “New Heights” moment fans instantly clocked. A listener dropped a merch idea that was clearly an Easter egg. Still, it went straight over Travis and Jason Kelce’s heads on air. The slip-up mattered because it tied back to Swift’s track “Wood” from “Life of a Showgirl.” And once the meaning landed, Travis sounded like he knew he’d hear about it later.

According to a Page Six report dated January 21, 2026, a fan asked why the new hoodies were not called “New Heights of Manhoodie.” Jason froze, then admitted he was lost. “I don’t know what the f—k that means,” he said. He followed up with, “What does that mean? What’s a ‘Manhoodie?’” Meanwhile, Travis repeated the phrase back, sounding just as confused.

Then the Kelce brothers got their answer from inside the room. Intern Brandon Borders jumped in and spelled it out. “I’ll just say it. It’s a ‘Life of a Showgirl’ reference, boys. Come on,” Borders said. Afterwards, he pointed to the lyric connection. “The lyric, ‘New heights of manhood.’ It is the time we were referenced in the album,” he added. Travis laughed at himself and said, “Taylor is going to kill me for not knowing that.”

For context, “Wood” has been one of the album’s most talked-about tracks since its release. In October 2025, Swift explained the song’s origin on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” “It really started out in a very innocent place,” she said. “I don’t know what happened, man.”

Later that month, she joked on SiriusXM’s “Morning Mash Up.” “She thinks that the song is about superstitions, which it absolutely is,” Swift said about how her mom perceives the meaning. Ultimately, Travis missing the hint on the New Heights podcast just gave Swifties one more clip to replay.
