Beast Games’ Ian Reveals What He Did With $1.8M Island

Ian Weber, or Player 148, became the winner of the $1.8 million private island in Beast Games Season 2. But he also got the choice of either keeping the private island in Panama or cashing out and leaving with the cash. Weber seemed sure of his decision after he won the second season of Beast Games.

What did Beast Games Season 2’s Player 148 Ian do with the $1.8 million island?

Beast Games Season 2 winner Ian Weber secured the island through a Survivor crossover event. Ten players were sent to Survivor Island in Fiji, where they competed in a series of challenges. The finale ended with only Ian and JC remaining, with Ian ultimately winning the prize.

Since then, Ian revealed that MrBeast and the team gave him the option of keeping the island or taking the money. For him, the choice was quite clear. He took the money.

He explained this to the tribal council, consisting of the eight eliminated players, that his reason for being on the show was financial. “I told my wife. ‘I’m going to bring home something for us so we can live comfortably as a family,” he said before revealing that he had worked at a corporate job six to seven days a week for 14 years and was still unable to save money. “The money that’s in my bank account… It’s never been as close to zero as it is right now,” he said (via Dexerto).

After getting some time to figure out what he would do with the cash that he earned by cashing out the island, Ian made an appearance on RHAP: We Know Reality TV, where he said, “I had the option of whether I could own it or cash it out, and I thought about it – it would be nice.”

He added, “Jimmy was amazing enough to fly me out to Panama. I stepped on my island. I’m walking around. He showed me around my villa, my king-size bed, and my pool. We’re walking away from it, and I turn and look at him, and I say, ‘You know what, brother, I think I’ll take the 1.8 million dollars.”
