Barbershop Series Reveals 8 New Cast Members & Character Details

Prime Video is giving Barbershop a fresh lineup, and it’s stacked with familiar comedy faces. The upcoming TV adaptation of the hit MGM movie franchise has added several guest stars from Saturday Night Live, Abbott Elementary, and beyond, rounding out a cast that leans hard into humor, personality, and big energy.

Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker and more join Barbershop cast

Eight guest stars are set to visit the iconic Calvin’s barbershop in the upcoming TV adaptation of the Barbershop movies. The new additions include Abbott Elementary scene-stealer Zack Fox as Alderman Warren and Saturday Night Live alum Ego Nwodim as Shelly-Ann (via Deadline). They are joined by fellow SNL writer Devon Walker as Southside Swole and talk show disruptor Ziwe as Abbi.

The eclectic guest list also features Tituss Burgess from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as Juan Grillz, Diallo Riddle from South Side as Pastor Devante. Furthermore, Comedian CP will feature as Marvin, and Belmont Cameli as Shep.

This stellar lineup will appear alongside Barbershop lead Jermaine Fowler, who plays Travis “Trav” Porter. Trav is trying to carve out his own path while living up to the legacy of his grandfather, a legendary barber at Chicago’s iconic Calvin’s barbershop.

Even with a new crew behind the chairs, the shop itself doesn’t seem to have lost its edge. Calvin’s is still loud, opinionated, and full of debate, with customers who come for more than just a clean fade. As the official logline puts it, “While the barbers are new, the shop remains just as lively, the customers just as argumentative, and the fades are still the dopest in the city — because at Calvin’s, the community comes together for way more than just a haircut.”

Alongside Fowler, the main cast includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., and E.J. Bonilla.

Behind the scenes, Marshall Todd, who co-wrote the original Barbershop film, serves as the writer and executive producer.
