The White House has responded to Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin’s criticism of President Donald Trump by calling them “useful idiots” with “no talent.” This came after Goldberg called for the removal of President Trump on her show, The View. This is not the first time that the White House has responded aggressively to The View.
White House calls out The View hosts
The White House has responded to Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin’s criticism of President Donald Trump by calling them a “pair of idiots” in a new statement. This comes after Whoopi Goldberg called for the removal of Donald Trump using the 25th Amendment over mental issues.
Goldberg also pointed out the various dangerous developments around the world, including Trump’s stance on Greenland and his take on the recent ICE raids that have drawn global backlash.
As Goldberg asserted that “it is time” to remove Donald Trump from his post, panelist Sunny Hostin added that Trump was a “useful idiot” for problematic world leaders who were using the disturbances in global politics to push their own agenda.
After this, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle responded to Entertainment Weekly in an email about these allegations, saying, “Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin [are] a pair of useful idiots that have no talent and a very poorly rated TV show.” This is despite the fact that The View has climbed up significantly since its return from the Christmas hiatus.
Ingle’s statement further added, “President Trump will continue to deliver on his commonsense America First agenda that nearly 80 million Americans voted for.”
This is hardly the first time the White House has responded to The View. They had issued a statement earlier this month slamming Hostin and Ana Navarro after they commented on Venezuela. Moreover, both the White House and the Federal Communications Commission have made several statements about The View over the course of 2025.
