NBC is gearing up to merge its three Chicago dramas for another crossover episode. It will bring together Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med for a single, high-stakes storyline. The franchise event will unfold across three consecutive episodes this spring, with the network altering its usual Wednesday-night lineup.
Chicago Fire, Med, and PD crossover episode to take place in spring 2026
NBC is planning another large-scale crossover for its One Chicago franchise, with Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. set to intersect in a single storyline airing in spring 2026.
The network has scheduled the crossover event for Wednesday, March 4, when all three series will broadcast consecutive episodes built around the same emergency. Crossover will also alter its usual Wednesday-night order to support the storyline. Instead of following its usual lineup, the evening will open with Chicago Fire at 8 p.m. It will be followed by Chicago Med at 9 p.m., before concluding with Chicago P.D. at 10 p.m.
The crossover will be sparked by an aviation emergency that quickly grows into a broader threat to public safety. The official longline reads: “Firehouse 51 is called to an airfield when a passenger jet suddenly goes silent mid-air, triggering a high-stakes emergency. Their discovery cracks open a bigger and deadlier mystery — one with consequences that could ripple far beyond the runway and put countless lives in jeopardy. (via Variety)”
Crossovers are highly anticipated within the One Chicago universe and often bring strong viewership. The most recent crossover aired in January 2025 and centered on a gas explosion in a high-rise building. It trapped dozens of residents and led to an investigation by the Intelligence Unit.
All three series are produced by Universal Television in partnership with Wolf Entertainment. NBC has not yet released further details about the upcoming crossover. However, the spring 2026 event is set to be one of the season’s major storylines.
