Prime Video’s 56 Days gets first trailer with release date
All eight episodes of the highly anticipated series 56 Days will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The streamer released the official trailer and main art, confirming a worldwide launch in over 240 countries and territories.
Adapted from Catherine Ryan Howard’s popular novel, the series stars Dove Cameron as Ciara and Avan Jogia as Oliver. Their characters experience a whirlwind romance that begins with a chance meeting at the supermarket and quickly spirals into a dangerous obsession. The central mystery is laid bare fifty-six days later. Two homicide detectives, Lee (Karla Souza) and Karl (Dorian Missick), discover a brutally murdered, decomposed body in Oliver’s apartment.
56 Days trailer teases a complex web of secrets and passion. While a powerful attraction draws Ciara and Oliver together, friends warn that something is deeply wrong. Clues like a hidden second ID suggest Oliver is hiding his true identity, leading Ciara’s friend Shyla (Megan Peta Hill) to declare, “He’s not who you think he is.” The investigators are left to untangle what happened, with Shyla observing the couple, “I’m not sure which one of them was more demented.”
As the showrunners, Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher sum it up. “Their chemistry leaps off the screen. And it doesn’t hurt that they’re two of the best-looking humans on the planet,” they said. Cameron described the characters as “two deeply lonely people who are not just attracted to each other, but trauma-bonded.” She then added, “Their romance is a chemical reaction fueled by obsession and the hope of being understood. So the speed and intensity of their relationship felt emotionally truthful to play together on screen (via People).”
