Ex-Chiefs star Dante Hall recently said that the career of the Chiefs’ current tight end, Travis Kelce, “cannot end” on a low note. Hall discussed Kelce and the team in an interview with Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. Notably, there has been intense speculation surrounding Kelce’s retirement after the Chiefs missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014 and ended the season with a disappointing 6-11 record.
Ex-Chiefs star has a message for Travis Kelce amid retirement buzz
Chiefs’ former wide receiver Dante Hall has a message for Travis Kelce amid his retirement buzz. In an interview with Chiefs Wire, Hall revealed that he firmly believes that Kelce can play for another season and cannot end his career on a low note.
He shared, “I think you have to come back for that reason alone. You cannot end your career. Number one, on the way the season went, too great a career to end a career on that note. Number two, when you think of Kelce, who do you think of? Patrick Mahomes.”
Furthermore, he likened Kelce and Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes to iconicsuperheroes. Hall continued, “That’s Batman and Robin. That’s (Michael) Jordan and (Scottie) Pippen. Your last catch, your last game, your last pass, a reception has to come from 15 (Patrick Mahomes).”
The 47-year-old explained that Kelce has the “hunger” and “love for the game of football,” which gives him an edge over other players. Hall stated, “He has options off the field, but what I think we can all agree on is that he has a rare element throughout the NFL, which is to have the success that he’s had, made the money that he’s made, and still have the hunger and love for the game of football.”
Continuing further, he added, “That’s the difference for me. You can tell that some people love what football gives them, and others love football. And my personal opinion, Travis actually loves the game of football.”
