‘I Don’t Know Who This B**** Is’: Chris Pratt on AI Actress Tilly Norwood

Chris Pratt recently shared his thoughts on the buzz surrounding AI actors, such as Tilly Norwood, during his appearance at the Mercy premiere. He made it clear that he doesn’t believe AI could replace him, bluntly calling the idea of AI actors “bullsh*t.” While Pratt acknowledged the advantages of using AI widely and responsibly, he also couldn’t disagree that its rise could inevitably impact the entertainment industry.

Chris Pratt talks about Tilly Norwood and the impact of AI

In an interview with Variety, the MCU star shared his stance on the ongoing chatter about AI actors like Tilly Norwood. He said, “I don’t feel like someone’s gonna replace me, that’s AI. I heard this Tilly Norwood thing, I think that’s all bullshit. I’ve never seen her in a movie. I don’t know who this bitch is. It’s all fake until it’s something.”

He reflected on how there are other ways to use AI that don’t take away a human’s job. Pratt believes the rise in technology is an “amazing tool,” which could work well in the “right hands.” However, he cannot deny that it would eventually affect the film industry as well. But he is confident that the “great filmmakers” will continue to make “great films.”

“I don’t think you’re going to replace the human soul of a director or a writer or an actor or a singer or any of this stuff that requires human yearning and suffering and vision in art,” he explained.

Norwood, an AI performer, was introduced at the Zurich Film Festival by creator Eline Van der Velden. Since then, the creation has faced massive backlash from the industry, as it was known that talent agents were ready to sign an AI character. Van der Velden later shared a statement to address the backlash, clarifying that his creation is not a replacement for humans.
