On January 19, renowned gossip columnist Rob Shuter shared the latest development in the relationship between the two Deadpool & Wolverine co-stars.
After stating that the duo’s friendship “might be hitting a speed bump,” Shuter shared the claims made by a host of insiders regarding Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ current dynamics on his Substack account.
“It’s subtle at first — a missed text here, a cold shoulder there — but those close to them can feel the tension,” said one source. Another insider noted, “Hugh’s been unusually quiet around Ryan lately; people are whispering he’s stepping back for his own sanity.”
Moreover, one source went as far as to say that Reynolds has been trying to make amends with Jackman. “He’s texting, calling, even trying to set plans, but Hugh just hasn’t been returning his calls,” they said. Apparently, the duo had initially planned to attend a Sutton Foster performance together. This was until Jackman decided to ditch his mate and go to the cabaret event by himself.
From the insiders’ perspective, the root cause of the gap between Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds has to do with Blake Lively’s ordeal with Justin Baldoni. “Hugh doesn’t want to be caught in the middle. He’s loyal, but even he has limits when it comes to messy legal battles,” a source explained.
