Jason Momoa revealed who would win in a hypothetical cage match between himself and Dave Bautista. In a recent interview, the Game of Thrones alum opined that Bautista would get the upper hand in a fight. Notably, the actors recently starred together in The Wrecking Crew, where they play estranged half-brothers.
Jason Momoa talks about cage match with Dave Bautista
Speaking with Page Six at the premiere of his latest film, The Wrecking Crew, Jason Momoa, when asked who would win in a cage match between himself and Dave Bautista, accepted the possibility of being defeated by the Guardians of the Galaxy star. He said, “Dave’s gonna win.” The Aquaman actor then named the places Bautista would defeat him at. He stated, “On the street, in the shower…anywhere. In a closet, f***ng in the theatre, Dave is always gonna win!”
However, The Wrecking Crew director, Ángel Manuel Soto, disagreed with Momoa. The former remarked that the latter and Bautista’s co-star, Morena Baccarin, would defeat them. The Blue Beetle director added, “Morena’s going to kick both of their a**es. She, for me, is the ultimate bad*** in the movie.”
Momoa’s comments about Bautista defeating him in a fight aren’t all too surprising, considering how Bautista has years of wrestling experience with the WWE under his belt. Notably, Momoa touched upon this in an interview with Esquire last month, where he admitted his concerns about sharing a fight scene with the retired wrestler. The Hawaiian actor stated, “I’m not gonna lie to you. When you have Bautista mounted up on top of you, and he’s throwing punches, you’re like, ‘F****k, I know you did wrestling and s**t, but man, if you slip I’m f****d.’”
The Wrecking Crew premieres on Amazon Prime Video on January 28, 2026. Soto helmed the film from Jonathan Tropper’s screenplay. The story follows two half-brothers, an unpredictable cop, and a disciplined NAVY Seal, who reunite to unravel a conspiracy revolving around their father’s mysterious demise. Besides Momoa, Bautista, and Baccarin, the film also stars Claes Bang, Temuera Morrison, Jacob Batalon, and Frankie Adams, among others.
