Fans Think Orlando Bloom Shaded Katy Perry at Golden Globes

Orlando Bloom made a rare public appearance at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He made a comment that many interpreted as aimed at former lover Katy Perry. This was also one of Bloom’s first outings since he split with the pop star. However, Bloom and Perry continue to maintain a cordial relationship.

Orlando Bloom’s comment has fans thinking he shaded Katy Perry

Orlando Bloom is not a star seen everywhere all the time. His public appearances are few and far between. Since his split with Katy Perry, with whom he stayed for nearly nine years, this was one of his first pubic appearances. He made an appearance at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He presented the award for Best Non-English Language Motion Picture with Minnie Driver. Bloom also chatted with some news outlets before getting on the stage for his presentation.

During a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, he said something that fans assumed was aimed at Katy Perry. When asked about his daughter Daisy’s Christmas wish list, Bloom said that she wanted “a boyfriend and a cat.” He further added, “That’s kind of nuts, right? But I was the boyfriend, so that’s the good news. Hallelujah! She’s gonna marry me, finally a woman I can trust!”

Many guessed that the phrase “a woman I can trust” was a dig at Katy Perry, who has started dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after her split from Bloom. However, the interpretation may be far-fetched as Bloom and Perry continue to maintain a co-parenting relationship between them. In fact, Perry and Bloom reunited ahead of the holidays as co-parents, taking Daisy out to see Paddington: The Musical on London’s West End.

The pair announced their split in July in a joint statement that read, “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is— and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
