Jennifer Lopez almost ruined Timothee Chalamet’s win
At the 2026 Golden Globe Awards held at The Beverly Hilton on January 11, Jennifer Lopez nearly revealed the winner for Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy before officially presenting the nominees. While onstage, Lopez said, “So, let’s see who was the funniest or the most musical,” and added, “But honestly, these were some of the most amazing performances of the year, and I don’t know how they choose one of you.” She opened the envelope before she realized she hadn’t introduced the nominees (via E! News).
Lopez quickly corrected herself, saying, “Good luck to all of you,” and then stated, “and the nominees are…” before the nominations reel played. The official nominees were Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme, Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another, George Clooney in Jay Kelly, Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon, Lee Byung-Hun in No Other Choice, and Jesse Plemons in Bugonia.
Timothée Chalamet ultimately won the award for his role as Marty Mauser in Marty Supreme. During his acceptance speech, Chalamet thanked his co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Tyler, The Creator, Fran Drescher, and Kevin O’Leary, saying, “If you would have told me when I was 19 years old I’d be thanking Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank, I would have been stunned.”
He also acknowledged his parents and longtime partner, Kylie Jenner, stating, “For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much.” Jenner mouthed from the audience, “I’m so happy.”
Leonardo DiCaprio congratulated Chalamet after the win. Chalamet told DiCaprio, “Dude, I’m studying. I’m studying you, man.”
