‘Stay Tuned’: Season 2 of Hit Netflix Series Gets Update From Co-Creator

Stephen Graham, the co-creator and star of Adolescence, recently teased Season 2 of the hit Netflix psychological crime-drama series after it won multiple awards at this year’s Golden Globes. However, his comments indicate that it might be a while before subscribers will be able to see the second season. Conversations about a potential second season of Adolescence have been circulating since the series premiered on Netflix in March 2025.

Stephen Graham teases Adolescence Season 2

Stephen Graham spoke about Season 2 of Adolescence backstage at the Golden Globes. He said, “I cannot answer that question because it’s somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack’s mind, and we’ll pull it out in three or four years, so stay tuned.”

Adolescence won four Golden Globes at the ceremony: Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television; Best Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television (Graham); Best Supporting Actor on Television (Owen Cooper); and Best Supporting Actress on Television (Erin Doherty). The show has also received numerous other accolades, including multiple Primetime Emmys.

Adolescence was initially conceptualized as a limited series, and Netflix still lists it as such. However, Deadline reported in April 2025 that Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, one of the production companies behind Adolescence, was discussing a prospective follow-up to the show.

This isn’t the first time Graham has spoken about Adolescence Season 2. He said in a May 2025 interview that a follow-up was “still a possibility.” Then again, director Philip Barantini, who helmed all four episodes of Season 1, dismissed the chances of a continuation, though he expressed interest in working with the creatives behind the series on other projects.

Adolescence revolves around Cooper’s Jamie Miller, a 13-year-old boy arrested following the death of his classmate. Graham portrays Jamie’s father, Eddie, in the show, and Doherty stars as Briony Ariston.
