Jennifer Lawrence Wanted to ‘Obliterate Every Dog’ for a Reason

Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about a major change in her life: her relationship with dogs. For years, the Hunger Games star was known as a dedicated dog lover. However, becoming a mother has completely shifted her perspective.

She recently shared that she now views dogs very differently than she used to. The actress explained that her protective instincts as a mom have made her feel much more cautious around animals she once adored.

Jennifer Lawrence sees dogs as a threat after one bit her son

The shift happened after a scary incident involving her oldest son, Cy. During a recent talk in New York City, Lawrence revealed that a dog bit her young son. She admitted that she no longer recognizes dogs the way she used to. Instead of seeing them as friendly pets, she now sees a potential “threat” to her children (via PEOPLE).

The experience was so intense that it changed her feelings toward all dogs. Lawrence even joked about how protective she became, saying she felt like “obliterating” any dog that looked like the one that hurt her child. Her “mama bear” instincts took over completely. She was so concerned about safety that she even gave her own dog, Pippi Longstocking, to her parents after her kids were born.

Today, the actress has found a new kind of companionship. She is now a proud cat owner. Her cat, named Fred, has a very different personality that she finds hilarious. She says she appreciates cats because they are “misunderstood.” She enjoys how they act like being in the same room as her is just a “coincidence.”

While she was once a famous dog enthusiast, her main priority is now her family. Lawrence and her husband, Cooke Maroney, have two sons together. For her, keeping her home feeling safe for her children is more important than anything else. This honest story shows just how much motherhood can change a person’s heart and their home.
