A new rumor suggests that Marvel’s Multiverse-hopping superhero America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez, might not return for Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars. However, there is no confirmation regarding this from Marvel Studios yet. The character made her first appearance in the 2022 movie Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
America Chavez rumored to sit out of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars
Recently, renowned scooper My Time To Shine Hello, also known as MTTSH, stated that it appears Xochitl Gomez’s America might not have a role in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
MTTSH wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “The fact that America Chavez’s literal power is traveling the multiverse yet she won’t even be in Doomsday or have an important role in Secret Wars is INSANE.”
In another post, the scooper mentioned, “Based on the leaked concept art I’m not even sure America Chavez is in Secret Wars AT ALL.”
Additionally, Gomez’s name was not included in the list of cast members for Doomsday that was announced in March 2025. During a chat with ET Online in August 2025, Gomez was asked about her involvement in the movie, and she stated that she is hyped to see Chavez’s future in the MCU.
Fans are surprised by America Chavez’s absence from Doomsday
After MTTSH shared the scoop on social media, many users shared their thoughts on America Chavez possibly not returning in the next Avengers movies.
One user wrote, “Sorry, but it makes absolutely no sense for her not to appear. Just like Captain Marvel isn’t confirmed for Doomsday or Secret Wars, we’re sure [she’ll] be in the movies, and I see the same with America.”
Another user posted, “Wth was even the point of introducing her then??? You have a multiverse character and won’t use her. This is silly.”
A third user commented, “Isn’t her power traveling through timelines lmfao if she’s not in it at least for a scene the Russos f up.”
