2 Broke Girls Reboot Gets Update 9 Years After Cliffhanger Finale

The celebrated CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls may have ended its run in 2017, but fans continue to hope for a revival, including series mainstay Kat Dennings. In a recent interview, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) star opened up about a possible reboot of the show, suggesting that there is room for 2 Broke Girls to make a comeback on television.

Kat Dennings thinks 2 Broke Girls reboot can happen ‘someday’

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Dennings acknowledged that the series finale of 2 Broke Girls left fans high and dry and that the cliffhanger ending could prompt a reboot in the near future.

Commenting on the recent 15th anniversary of her show, the 39-year-old actress jokingly remarked, “That makes me feel very existential and very aged. Clearly, um, I need to do some self-reflection. I need to dig the waitress uniform out of my storage unit, see if it still fits; it probably will not, but wow, that is truly insane.”

She then highlighted how the 2 Broke Girls finale did not provide a conclusive ending to the show’s narrative before adding that, considering the current dynamics of the entertainment industry, a reboot could be on the cards. “I know, we were robbed of our, like, wrap-up. It ended on a cliffhanger, which was so sad for everybody. Maybe some day there’ll be, like, a reboot. They’re rebooting things now, so maybe—maybe someday,” Dennings stated.

Notably, in the final episode of 2 Broke Girls Season 6, Randy (Ed Quinn) decides to propose to Max (Kat Dennings), which she ultimately accepts. Meanwhile, the life story of Caroline (Beth Behrs) receives a movie adaptation, with the film premiering at a grand red-carpet event. As everyone prepares to attend the premiere, Sophie gives birth to her baby, adding to the joyous atmosphere. While Max and Caroline had failed to overturn their financial condition, they managed to end Season 6 with hopes for a brighter future in their hearts.

2 Broke Girls aired its first episode on CBS on September 19, 2011, and enjoyed a successful run on the network for six seasons before reaching a premature conclusion on April 17, 2017.
