Miley Cyrus has opened up about a potential return to acting. While she was clear about her acting intentions, she said that she’s looking for the “right thing,” and is curious about what other directors or writers could have on their mind for her, and be part of someone else’s world.
What Miley Cyrus said about acting return
On the red carpet for the 37th Palm Springs International Film Awards, actress and singer Miley Cyrus said that she’s open to acting in movies again.
During her brief interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Hannah Montana alum said that she’d “love to” act again. She added, “I hope some brilliant mind in here has the right thing for me. Let’s see. Remind them. If someone genius comes by, be like, ‘Hey, Miley is here.’”
When asked what type of role she wants to do, the Wrecking Ball singer said, “Just tell them, ‘What do they want me to do?’ I would love to go into someone else’s world. I’m the boss in my own world.”
Her most recent acting role was in Black Mirror in 2019, where she portrayed two characters, Ashley O and Ashley Too. During the event, the 33-year-old singer won the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for her song “Dream as One,” featured in Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The former Disney star also said that she doesn’t like to plan too far ahead in the future. She said, “I think of my life in quarters, so I like to kind of think about who and what I want to be or do within the first quarter of that year and don’t think too far ahead, or you end up committing to all these things that maybe that’s not what is planned for you ultimately.”
She continued, “So within my first quarter, it’s just a celebration and kind of tying up what I’ve started with Avatar. We were just talking about the Hannah Montana anniversary, just really about everything that has been, really taking time to honor that. Then I’m thinking in the back half of the year, what could be.”
