Ashley Tisdale Felt a ‘Disconnect’ With the Mom Group — Source

Ever since Ashley Tisdale published her personal essay about “toxic” mom on The Cut, she has been at the centre of the news. While she claimed in her write-up that she broke up with the group due to “high school” behaviour, a source now claims the real reason behind their split, saying that the actor’s exit came following a “misalignment of values.”

Ashley Tisdale’s mom group drama stemmed out of ‘misalignment of values,’ claims source

Ashley Tisdale gained the spotlight after her essay about her former mom group went viral. In her essay, she shed light on how she felt being part of the group and revealed when and how she broke with ex-friends. “Mom groups can turn toxic. Not because the moms themselves are toxic people, but because the dynamic shifts into an ugly place with mean-girl behavior,” the star wrote.

However, an insider close to the former mom group has now told People where the drama stemmed from. “It was a misalignment of values that Ashley decided to make public,” a source claimed. “Friends naturally drift apart. It didn’t warrant a dramatic breakup text.” The “High School Musical” alum explained in her essay that she broke up with the group over text. She told them, “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”

However, another tipster pointed out the real reason why she published her easy “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,” saying she was feeling a “disconnect” with the group for a few months before leaving. “Ashley put this out there because [she wants people to know] toxic behavior is not acceptable,” explained the source, adding that “this is blowing up in the craziest way.”

Even Jenna Bush Hager voiced her opinion about the whole drama on Tuesday’s episode of “Today with Jenna & Friends.” Hager said that she “think private conversations are more and more important” in such scenarios. She added, “Speaking your truth to the people who have hurt you should be enough. I hope we can also teach that if you feel wronged, if you feel hurt, show love.”
