It’s a win-win for Pokémon fans as MrBeast seems to have struck a deal with a top card collector. The anonymous collector, who goes by the name Kabuto King on X (formerly Twitter), proposed a charity deal to the YouTube creator, who agreed but under new conditions.
MrBeast teams up with Pokémon card collector for charity deal
Kabuto King took to X on January 4 to post an offer to MrBeast that had fans holding their breath. The collector suggested making a $2,500 donation to a charity selected by the YouTuber in return for a signed copy of the rare card. He wrote, “If @MrBeast signs a 1st edition Kabuto and sends it to me, I will donate $2,500 to whatever charity he chooses.”
The multi-hyphenate replied directly to the post, writing, “Make it $10k and you have a deal!” The public exchange quickly went viral on social media. Kabuto King agreed to the deal and asked MrBeast to check his DMs since they had shared an idea with him.
Later, the collector reposted the YouTuber’s reply with a new proposition. They suggested that the duo also sign an unlimited Kabuto card and auction it off for MrBeast’s chosen charity. Jimmy has yet to respond to this new proposal, but fans are quite excited to see how the team-up between these collectors turns out.
Kabuto King is currently on the mission to collect as many 1st Edition Fossil Kabuto cards as possible. This has had a significant impact on the supply and pricing of these cards and drawn considerable attention from other card collectors in the community.
This new charity donation deal with MrBeast comes less than a month after Kabuto King sold a signed Kabuto card on eBay in a charity auction. After almost two weeks of conversations with eBay about the fees, the auction raised $51,100 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
