Michael B. Jordan is pausing to soak up the spotlight after receiving an Icon Award. The actor, producer, and director reflected on the honor with gratitude and humility, sharing how incredible his journey in the industry has been and all the fantastic people he’s worked with along the way.

After the ceremony, Michael B. Jordan opened up about just how overwhelming the moment was. “I don’t even know… it’s such a wild thing, an overwhelming amount of gratitude.” The 38-year-old added that being recognized alongside people who shaped his career made the honor feel even more special. “To be in that category is a little surreal, but I’m here” ( via ETOnline).

Jordan also reflected on the journey that led him here. The Icon Award celebrates not just his work in front of the camera but also his projects as a director and producer. When asked what excites him most about his creative path, he shared his love for storytelling from every angle. “I love the feeling of telling stories through my lens, but also using other actors as a vessel to get that message across… giving them an opportunity to really take the forefront while I step back.”

The ceremony was a full-circle moment for Michael B. Jordan, who got his start on All My Children. Seeing fellow alum Amanda Seyfried honored at the same event had him reminiscing on their early days. “Proud. Really proud. Makes you feel old, but also really grateful that we’ve both been working consistently.” Jordan also gave props to Seyfried’s growth as an actress, sharing how happy he was to see her celebrated right alongside him.
