WWE icon Kevin Nash has cast doubt about CM Punk’s in-ring future. Nash did not hold back from his scathing criticism of CM Punk’s wrestling future on the latest episode of the “Kliq This” podcast. Not only that, Nash seemingly asked Punk to retire from the in-ring action.
WWE legend Kevin Nash on CM Punk’s future in the ring
WWE legend Kevin Nash did not hold back about CM Punk’s recent performance on WWE Raw. On the December 29 episode of “Kliq This” podcast, Nash objected to Punk’s choice of outfit, a t-shirt, during the match. Nash believed a WWE World Heavyweight Champion should look the part.
The host shared, “I think this is just my opinion that Punk should go over on Breakker on Raw in January for the belt. Then have Bron Breakker versus Punk at WrestleMania and have Punk drop the belt to Breakker.” The host wanted Punk to retain the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker on the first anniversary episode of WWE RAW on Netflix on January 5, before getting a rematch at WrestleMania.
However, Nash was of a different opinion. He stated, “I watched Punk in the main event of that match last Monday. Number one, if you’re the heavyweight champion of the WWE and you wrestle in a t-shirt, ouch! Number two, his punches look really slow. He looks slow. I think he’s done. I think Bron (Breakker) should beat him.” Nash’s comments come at a time when a number of fans on the internet and former wrestlers have been talking about CM Punk needing to improve his conditioning.
It seems like Nash has changed his opinion about Punk, as he had previously lavished praise on CM Punk. At the time, the former WWE Hall of Famer said, “Punk’s too good on the mic right now. He’s still solid in the ring, he’s needed right now, and he’s too strong of a character. In two years, he won’t be that guy. I think there’s time, and if they surprise me, I won’t say they jump the gun by any means.”
Interestingly, CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker on January 5 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. (via Complex)
