Donald Trump Gets Trolled by South Park Writer Over Kennedy Center

South Park writer Toby Morton revealed that he bought the domain names for the Trump Kennedy Center after predicting that the current president would name the center after himself. He shared this detail in a recent interview with The Washington Post.

How South Park writers trolled Donald Trump

South Park gets a lot of things right, thanks to its talented bunch of writers, who seem to have a knack for getting things right themselves. Toby Morton, also known for his work in shows like Blunders, Breakups & Babies, did exactly that.

He recently revealed that he bought the domain names for the Trump Kennedy Center after he correctly predicted that Donald Trump would rename the building after himself.

In his latest interview with The Washington Post, Morton revealed how the President’s moves earlier this year prompted him to buy this domain name. “As soon as Trump began gutting the Kennedy Center board earlier this year, I thought, ‘Yep, that name’s going on the building,” Morton revealed, “The rest followed on schedule.”

While he is not yet sure how he plans to use the domains, Morton teased their future purpose. “It’ll absolutely reflect the absurdity of the moment. Lots of surprises. Some things are truly hard to parody, though,” he said.

Morton also addressed the broader cultural implications of the move. “The Kennedy Center has always been a cultural institution meant to outlast any one administration or personality. It’s meant to honour culture, not ego. Once it was treated like personal branding, satire became unavoidable,” he added.

In February 2025, President Trump was elected chairman of the venue. He also announced plans to change its programming and board of trustees. This month, the board voted to rename it from the Kennedy Center to the Trump Kennedy Center. The decision aligned with Morton’s earlier prediction.

The renaming has sparked backlash nationwide. Jazz musician Chuck Redd announced that he would cancel his annual Christmas Eve performance at the venue following the announcement.

President Donald Trump continues to remain a polarizing figure both in the United States and internationally.
