Chase Stokes wants to ‘challenge’ himself after Outer Banks Season 5
Chase Stokes recently spoke to People about Season 5 and his career moving forward. He explained that they don’t want the show to overstay its welcome. “We want the story to end on the right note versus [turning] four seasons into season nine,” Stokes stated, adding, “We’re thankful for the run, and we’re ready for it to be done.”
He noted that ending the series as planned brings a sense of closure. “It’s beautiful to know that even though there [are]…highs and lows, it’s ending exactly how I was told when I started the show,” Stokes said.
Now, the Uglies actor wants to grow his work beyond the Pogues. Sharing how he plans to go about his career, he said, “I always reference Robert Pattinson after he finished Twilight… and how he took creative risks.” “That’s the blueprint for me. I want to show people that the floppy-haired beach boy from the Netflix young adult show is now 33 years old. And at the end of the day, all I want to do is challenge myself.”
Notably, the actor has already moved into new roles behind the camera. Stokes will make his directorial debut next fall. He revealed he has “some very cool projects” ready to bring to life when the time is right.
The show will end its run next year, with the release of the final season in 2026.
