A new rumor surrounding Sadie Sink‘s mysterious character in Spider-Man 4 has surfaced. Although the upcoming MCU film is still months away, speculation about its plot and cast has continued to circulate online. These rumors have further fueled interest in the film, as fans remain eager to see what lies ahead for the web-slinger’s next cinematic chapter.
DODC rumored to capture Sadie Sink’s character in Spider-Man
A new rumor suggests that Sadie Sink‘s character will be targeted and captured by the Department of Damage Control in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, before being rescued by Spider-Man.
Industry scooper MyTimetoShineHello wrote on X (formerly Twitter), The DODC is after Sadie Sink’s character. They manage to capture her, but Spider-Man rescues her.”
For those unfamiliar, the Department of Damage Control is a government organization within the MCU. It first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming. In the film, the organization is revealed to have been created by Tony Stark and the U.S. government. Its formation caused Adrian Toomes to lose his salvaging business, which ultimately led him to turn to a life of crime as Vulture. Since then, the DODC has played notable roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
It remains unclear who Sadie Sink is playing in Spider-Man 4. However, that has not stopped fans from speculating about her potential role, with rumors pointing to characters like X-Men’s Jean Grey, Punisher’s ally Rachel Cole-Alves, and Shathra. Notably, Sink has remained tight-lipped about her role in Brand New Day.
Brand New Day is not the only MCU project in which Sadie Sink’s character will appear. Deadline reported last month that she would appear in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton recently confirmed on Instagram that filming had wrapped. He posted a lengthy message expressing gratitude to the cast and crew for helping him make the film. He called it “the biggest, most rewarding film [he has] ever been a part of.”
Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026. Cretton directed the film from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Both writers previously worked on MCU Spider-Man films. Michael Giacchino composed the film’s music, while Brett Pawlak served as cinematographer.
Besides Sink, the film also stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Liza Colón-Zayas, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III. Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo will also appear in the film, reprising their roles of Frank Castle/Punisher and Bruce Banner/Hulk from previous MCU films/television shows.
