In a hilarious turn of events, a (now-tagged) repeat offender raccoon broke into a liquor store yet again! He lay on the floor, passed out from all the drinking in a brazen display of furry foolishness. However, the furry boozehound’s story has a twist to make the internet giggle even harder.
Drunk raccoon’s liquor store break-in was not his first
A story going viral on social media shows a visibly drunk raccoon passed out in a Virginia booze store. While the sight of the intoxicated critter was a funny one, this apparently wasn’t his first rodeo.
Animal Protection Officer Samantha Martin revealed that the little guy is, in fact, a regular visitor. There have been several instances of him breaking into the same building multiple times in search of treats.
“We don’t know what time he got in there. Supposedly, he fell through the ceiling”, she told the Hear in Hanover podcast. “This is not the first time he’s been in one of the buildings. Supposedly, this is the third break-in he’s had”.
“He was in the karate studio, I think he got into the DMV and ate some of their snacks one time. Each time we get him out, we don’t relocate him because that’s a death sentence for raccoons. But, somehow, he knows how to get back into this building. He’s a smart little critter”, she added.
The raccoon’s latest escapade involved smashing bottles and passing out in the bathroom, face down, too drunk to move or care. Thankfully, he’s okay. Martin recounted the laughter-inducing scene on the podcast, sharing the hilarious details with her audience.
“We didn’t realize he was passed out, we thought he was going to pop up at any moment”, she said. “Once we opened up the bathroom and looked in on him, it was like ‘oh, he’s gone, he’s definitely had a few”she added.
“We started chuckling. I was taking pictures, the store manager was taking pictures. At that point, the whole store had opened, so people were coming in”, she further revealed.
