Travis Kelce avoided the media following the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss to their rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, during the playoffs on Sunday, December 14. The team was defeated by a score of 16–13, ending their chances of reaching the postseason and officially eliminating them from contention. As Kelce was headed to the locker room, he was approached by the media for answering post-game questions, but he refused them with a straightforward comment.
Travis Kelce didn’t talk to media after Chiefs elimination
A disappointed Kelce walked towards the locker room, following the Chiefs’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Along the way, he was approached by the media for some post-game insights. However, he refused to speak with the media and went straight into the locker room. According to Daily Mail UK, he did briefly address the media with a comment before heading inside. He reportedly said, “It’s not the time. I’ll catch you guys during the week.”
This isn’t the first time the NFL star has avoided the media after the game; it happened once during the Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos match as well. In the match, Kelce got into a heated confrontation with his opponents, including McMillian and Jahdae Barron. Here, Kelce took the early catch, and Barron caught up with him, followed by his teammates, swarming around him. The extra contact wasn’t liked by Kelce, who initially confronted the rookie and then got into a tense exchange with McMillian.
Following the Chiefs’ loss to the Broncos, Kelce went to the locker room and, before that, was aware of the questions that might be asked of him. He only gave a blunt comment to the media and refused to answer any further questions. He said, “If you’re gonna ask about the record, I couldn’t care less about that right now.” Now, it remains to be seen what decision Kelce and the team will make regarding his NFL future, with 2025 set to be his final season under contract.
