Taylor Swift Gave Advice to Stephen Colbert Amid Show Ending

Taylor Swift has offered Stephen Colbert some words of advice on how to cope with his show ending next year. A year after concluding her record-breaking Eras Tour, the pop icon has given her perspective on stepping away from a long commitment.

Taylor Swift gives Stephen Colbert important advice

Earlier this year, CBS announced that the highly beloved The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will be coming to an end in May 2026. During his recent interview with Taylor Swift on December 10, Colbert sought the singer’s advice on how to move on from such a long-running commitment. Swift, who herself concluded her 21-month-long Eras Tour last year, shared her insights on the matter.

“To come down from a two-year tour like that, I’m sure there’s a little bit of transition. Any advice for me?” asked Colbert.

“For this specific situation, no, but I can sort of see from afar,” Swift responded. “I think I can speak for both of us, to say that we’re both very passionate, hyperactive people — let’s not say workaholics,” the songstress continued.

“So, when I take time off… I can’t slow down. The fact that I need to get up and do a lot of things today. But I can change what those things are,” Swift stated, adding, “I can figure out how to chill out, but I’m never going to be a chill person.”

Reflecting on the upcoming end of Colbert’s long-running late-night show and her own career, Swift mused, “You love to do a million things to prepare for this, and you give everything to the people that watch. You can give that to your friends and family, your community…”

Colbert joked, “But my friends and family don’t chant my name, Taylor,” earning a chuckle from the singer, before moving on to the next question.

Meanwhile, fans are excited to watch Swift’s upcoming docuseries, The End of an Era, arriving on December 12, 2025.
