Kelsey Grammer excited for his Avengers: Doomsday return, says Beast is ‘man of great character’
Kelsey Grammer recently sat down with Screen Rant and spoke about what it felt like to return as Beast for Avengers: Doomsday.
Grammer was announced as a part of the cast of the movie in March 2025. The Frasier star spoke about his feelings when reuniting with his former X-Men co-stars, and whether he is up-to-date on the current MCU. He stated, “I haven’t really been able to keep up. Some of it I’m aware of, others I’m like, ‘Well, I don’t know.’ But it was a presumptive joy to join in, to be part of it again.”
He added, “It’s like a ‘hail-fellow-well-met.’ I didn’t work with a lot of the other guys because so much of it is like, ‘Oh, somebody flies in from this place for a week, somebody flies in from that place,’ and then somehow we end up on screen together.” He later labeled Marvel as an “extraordinary franchise” and said he was “happy to be invited back.”
Grammer also talked about his cameo in The Marvels and shared that he was “very flattered” by the opportunity. He added, “It just speaks to the character. He’s a wonderful character. He’s such a good man. It’s always nice to play something you believe in yourself.” He called Beast a “man of great character” and stated, “I’ve always thought of him as the Martin Luther King of the mutant community – just a man of character and stature who will stand up for what he believes in, and he’ll pay the ultimate price if he has to.”
Moreover, Grammer asserted that although he looks to do roles that he hasn’t done before, returning as Beast is “is [an] inexplicable joy. It’s a presumed gift, and that I’m really, really excited about.”
