OpenAI boss Sam Altman, who became a father in February, opened up about the role of AI in raising his kid. Sam Altman makes wild confession about AI
Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, one of the most successful companies in the world right now, welcomed his first child with husband Oliver Mulherin this February. The new father announced the news on X, writing, “Welcome to the world, little guy! He came early and is going to be in the NICU for a while. He is doing well, and it’s really nice to be in a little bubble taking care of him. I have never felt such love.”
In his recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon, the CEO was asked if he was using AI in raising his kid. “I do,” Altman answered the question, “I feel kind of bad about it because we have this genius level at everything intelligence sitting there and waiting to unravel the mysteries of humanity, and I’m like,’ Why does my kid keep dropping his pizza on the floor and laughing?'”
He added, “I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT. Clearly, people did it for a long time with no problem, so clearly it’s possible, but I have relied on it so much.”
His remarks seemingly left people divided, with some parents agreeing that ChatGPT has been instrumental in helping them figure things out. While others were not impressed with the comments. “Most tech bros probably need ChatGPT for advice on how to do anything “normally.”,” one user wrote in response, while another added, “If you cannot raise your child without AI, maybe you shouldn’t have reproduced in the first place…”
Sam Altman is considered the leading figure in the latest AI boom.
