Cheryl Hines Didn’t Want To Marry RFK Jr. For This Reason — Report

Cheryl Hines is opening up about her marriage to RFK Jr. in a way she never has before. In her new book, “Unscripted,” Hines shares how challenging it has been to navigate life with her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., especially as his public profile and controversial positions drew huge attention. Besides, Hines reportedly admits she never imagined herself being a part of the political world at all.

Cheryl Hines makes surprising confession about her marriage with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Radar Online exclusively reported excerpts from Cheryl Hines’ memoir, in which she writes that her life and career were built around entertainment, not politics, but that changed when she married RFK Jr. Hines says, “I never had any desire to be part of a political conversation – or to be married to a polarizing public figure, for that matter – although I suppose no one really aspires to that.”

Moreover, she explains that she kept her social media apolitical, adding, “I didn’t tell them who they should vote for, just that it was important to participate.”

But as RFK Jr.’s public comments drew heated responses, Hines says the pressure began to affect her. She recalls that some discussions started to consume their home life. Every time she tried to talk about how his public statements affected her, she says the conversation shifted back to “studies and facts and figures” he wanted to show her. Now, she admits she grew tired of hearing about it.

Furthermore, as news stories surfaced, Hines says she grew frustrated, adding that she “sometimes didn’t like the language” her husband used.

The pressure grew so strong that RFK Jr. suggested a drastic solution. Hines recounts that he proposed a “fake separation” to protect her from backlash, writing, “If the world thought we were separated, people would be less inclined to blame and attack me for his actions,” explaining he recognized the toll it was taking on her.

Cheryl Hines’ memoir is a transparent window into how being with RFK Jr. affected her, offering a rare look at how public controversy can upend a marriage behind the scenes.
