The four-part documentary, released in full on December 2, 2025, overtook Stranger Things 5, which had led the list for only a week following its highly anticipated debut.
According to Netflix’s latest Top 10 Movies in the United States Overview, Sean Combs: The Reckoning secured the number-one position in 16 countries during the first week of December. The docuseries quickly accumulated 21.8 million views in its opening week.
The documentary provides an in-depth examination of Sean “Diddy” Combs’s career and the controversies that have followed him in recent years. It follows his rise in the 1990s music industry and explores the allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct that resurfaced following the high-profile lawsuit filed by Casandra Ventura in November 2023. The series also chronicles the events leading up to Combs’s 2024 arrest.
Netflix’s official logline for the docuseries says that it “features intimate footage, shot with Combs’s knowledge, in the six days leading up to his arrest and indictment,” adding, “At the time, Combs was under federal investigation.”
