The Democrats, whom Taylor Swift endorses, recently posted a video on social media mocking her fiancé, Travis Kelce. The video juxtaposed footage of Kelce’s critical mistake during the Kansas City Chiefs’ 10-20 losing match to the Houston Texans with shots of Donald Trump looking tired and stumbling while taking the stairs to a plane. The footage sparked widespread debate among netizens, some of whom expressed surprise at the Democrats’ mockery of Kelce.
Democrats’ Twitter account mocks Travis Kelce
Following the Kansas City Chiefs‘ 10-20 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, the Democrats shared a clip on X (formerly Twitter) mocking Travis Kelce.
Accompanied by background music, a snippet of The Gap Band’s “Outstanding,” the clip showed the Kansas City Chiefs players’ struggles during the match, and Kelce’s costly dropped catch on the field. The clip was spliced with shots of Donald Trump looking weary, unsuccessfully hitting the golf ball into the hole, and stumbling while taking the stairs to a plane.
“Washed,” the Democrats captioned their post.
The footage elicited a plethora of fan reactions. Some fans were surprised by the Democrats mocking Travis Kelce, pointing out that the latter’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, strongly supported them.
“Making fun of Travis Kelce when his fiancé is your biggest celebrity endorsement is an… interesting strategy,” one user wrote. “So you don’t like @taylorswift13 ? Because I think she’s a chiefs fan,” another added.
Another user called the Democrats “dumb” for comparing Trump to Kelce, while also highlighting Swift’s support for them.
It’s unclear why the Democrats made a video mocking Kelce and comparing him to Trump. Fans even wondered what the purpose of the video was. “What is this supposed to be? Who is your target audience here?” A user wrote. “Who is this for?” Another asked.
Kelce has not made any official statements endorsing or criticizing Trump. It’s also unclear if he has aligned himself with any political party. However, he once said that it would be a “great honour” to play in front of Trump at Super Bowl 59. (via People)
On the other hand, Swift has been vocal in her criticism of Trump and support for Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Trump has likewise been critical of Swift. He once said that he couldn’t “stand her” and that she was “NO LONGER HOT” on Truth Social. Despite this, Trump congratulated her and Kelce and wished them “a lot of luck” after hearing of their engagement.
