Carla Banks-Waddles says ‘anything is possible’ on Bel-Air spin-off chances

The Bel-Air showrunner has addressed growing curiosity about whether the recently concluded series could return as a spin-off or special.

Speaking to Deadline, Carla Banks-Waddles explained that there are currently no formal plans for additional projects. Yet, the That’s So Raven writer did not rule out the possibility. During the conversation, interviewer Rosy Cordero asked her, “I know Bel-Air just finished, but are there any plans, or would you like to revisit the show one day as a special, or have any ideas for spinoffs?”

To this, Banks-Waddles replied, “Anything is possible.” She explained that each character’s ending was created to feel like the start of a new chapter. “I think the way every story ended, it felt like a new beginning for all of those story lines. And even though you’re not going to be on the journey with those characters, you feel like they’re going to be okay,” Banks-Waddles added.

Additionally, the Good Girls executive producer confirmed that no additional projects are currently being developed. However, she said that the entertainment industry shifts quickly. Banks-Waddles noted, “[Regarding spinoffs], nothing that I’m aware of, but you know, things happen quickly in this business, Rosy, so anything can happen.”

In a separate interview with ScreenRant, Carla Banks-Waddles expressed confidence that the characters are headed toward promising futures. “Just like you said, I hope that people come away feeling like this is an ending, but also that there’s hope for them. I love what’s going to happen to these characters in the future,” she said.

Although there is currently no active plan for the continuation of Bel-Air, Banks-Waddles’ remarks have sparked new speculations.
