Blake Lively Wants Justin Baldoni Case To Proceed to Trial — Report

Blake Lively‘s legal team has requested that her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni head to trial. In a newly filed motion, the Gossip Girl star’s lawyers have outlined why Baldoni’s earlier appeal to dismiss the case should be denied.

New reports claims Blake Lively seeks a trial in Justin Baldoni case

Last month, Justin Baldoni’s lawyers filed a motion for summary judgment, requesting Judge Lewis J. Liman to dismiss Blake Lively’s lawsuit. As per the motion, his lawyers argued that Lively’s “litany of minor grievances” was not “severe or pervasive enough to create an objectively hostile or abusive work environment” (via The Wrap).

On Thursday, December 4, Lively’s legal team filed a new motion, countering Baldoni’s argument and requesting the judge to proceed with the trial. The actress’s lawyers asserted, “This is not, as Defendants claim, a story of minor annoyances fueled by creative differences, but instead one of a toxic work environment…”

Lively’s lawyers accused Baldoni’s team of pushing a “victimization narrative” against Lively, to “avoid accountability for the hostile environment they created” on the set of their 2024 movie, It Ends With Us (via Deadline).

The filing further alleges that Baldoni and his legal team are attempting to “shield [themselves] from trial, and deny Blake Lively her day in court, by throwing the kitchen sink at Lively’s sexual harassment and retaliation claims.” They added, “But Defendants’ scattershot theories collapse under the weight of the overwhelming evidence.”

The 72-page document also claims, “Defendants’ campaign to transform Lively—a mother of four with decades of experience in the industry who simply sought a safe and respectful workplace—into a “bully” who “took over” Baldoni’s Film is not a defense to harassment, retaliation, defamation, or any claim Lively has advanced.”

Blake Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni is scheduled for a trial in March 2026. While the tug of war for its dismissal continues between the two parties, there have been no signs of a potential settlement either.
