‘This Is Awesome’: Gwyneth Paltrow’s Kids React to Timothée Chalamet Kiss

Gwyneth Paltrow will soon appear opposite Timothée Chalamet in Josh Safdie’s new film, Marty Supreme, where the pair also share a kiss. Interestingly, the veteran actress revealed that her kids had a mixed reaction to seeing their mother performing such a scene with the much younger Chalamet.

A photo of the Academy Award-winning actress sharing a kiss with her young Marty Supreme co-actor emerged online last October, sparking an immediate uproar on the internet.

With a lot of discussion surrounding the scene from Josh Safdie’s film, Gwyneth Paltrow revealed how her two children reacted to the moment in a recent interview. Moreover, her two kids, daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19, had very different reactions to this.

“I mean, my daughter’s so cool and so punk rock that she’s like, ‘Mom, this is awesome!’ And my son was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t want to see this,'” Paltrow recalled of their reaction to The Hollywood Reporter. “He was kind of mortified.”

However, the Iron Man star added, “But I do think they’re actually excited to see this film because now they’re grown up and they can make this separation. I’m sure they’ll gag when I’m having a make-out scene, of course. But it’s funny, they haven’t really seen me in movies. Historically, they like me home, as Mom, and they don’t like to engage with the outside perspective of who I am.”

Notably, Gwyneth Paltrow plays the role of Kay Stone, a wealthy, retired actress and socialite in Marty Supreme. In the film, she forms an unlikely bond with the much younger Marty Mauser (Timothée Chalamet), an aspiring ping pong champion.

Marty Supreme already premiered at the 2025 New York Film Festival on October 6, 2025, to great critical acclaim, especially for Chalamet’s performance. It will have its theatrical release on December 25, 2025, in the United States. The film also marks Paltrow’s return to acting after 2019.
