Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet, who feature in the upcoming film Marty Supreme, shared a funny moment on set. Paltrow, known for her wellness advice, tried to help Chalamet with what she thought were skin issues, only to learn it was all makeup for his role.
Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t realize Timothée Chalamet had Marty Supreme makeup, gave advice
Gwyneth Paltrow meant well, but her skincare advice ended up in the wrong place. While filming Marty Supreme, she noticed Timothée Chalamet’s face looked different and thought he needed help improving his skin.
But the problem wasn’t real at all; it was just special-effects makeup. Speaking on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, Paltrow said, “In Marty Supreme, Timothée has pockmarks, and they made his eyes beady with contacts and glasses. In real life, he has beautiful skin. He made a comment, and I was like, ‘Oh, you can do micro-needling for that.’ He’s like, ‘This is makeup.’ I was like, ‘Oh, s—.'”
She added that the makeup looked so realistic she completely believed the scars were his. She said, “The makeup was so good that I thought he had little acne scars. Anyway, I think it would be interesting to one day do something like that.”
In Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, Paltrow plays Kay Stone a rich, aging movie star who forms an unexpected bond with Chalamet’s young ping-pong prodigy. His physical transformation for the role inspired her, and she said she wants to take on more roles exploring how women age.
The actress said, “I think it would be really interesting to do something around a story of an older woman. I’m really interested in how women age and how they regard themselves as they age. I look forward to playing older parts for sure.”
Marty Supreme is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 25, 2025. The cast also includes Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher.
