Kasabian Announce Australian Tour

English rockers Kasabian are heading to Australia for a handful of headline dates this August.

Fresh off dropping the brand new single ‘eez-eh’ earlier in the week, the Leicester four-piece are close to releasing a follow up to 2011’s Velociraptor. Frontman Tom Meighan says the upcoming 13-track album, 48:13, is “… punk. We’ve never done anything like it. It’s trashy. It’s dirty. It’s Leicester.”

Kasabian are returning to Australia after last visiting for the Big Day Out back in 2012 and will play five massive capital city shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Guitarist and vocalist Sergio Pizzorno joined Triple J earlier in the week for the release of ‘eez-eh’.

“I’ve had such an incredible time in Australia,” he said of previous visits. “Starting with the big day out, and then doing our own shows, and the spirit is very similar to the gigs back home. There’s an incredible amount of love. Within the spirit of the band and the spirit of the live show, the people of Australia just never fail to blow your mind.”

48:13 is set for a June release.
