Drake, Justin Bieber Win At American Music Awards

At last night’s American Music Awards, Canadian Justin Bieber and Drake took home four honours each.

Bieber won for Video of the Year for “Sorry,” as well as Favorite Male Artist. He also won for Favorite Album – Pop/Rock for Purpose. Meanwhile, Drake was the recipient of the Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop American Music Awards, Favorite Album – Rap/Hip-Hop for Views, and Favorite Song – Rap/Hip-Hop “Hotline Bling.”

Other winners included Rihanna, who took home three AMAs, and Zayn, who took home New Artist of the Year.

The American Music Awards were hosted by former Saturday Night Live comic Jay Pharaoh and model Gigi Hadid. Drake said during one of his acceptance speeches, “For our genre, I just like to keep things excited and keep making music. Shout out to everybody that’s trying to do the same thing” (The Associated Press).
