Close Out Your ’16 festival season at CRSSD

If you didn’t fist-pump your heart out at Coachella’s Sahara Tent or still have some leftover body paint from Electric Daisy Carnival, head out to CRSSD this October 1-2 for 2016’s last major dance music festival. San Diego’s biannual event, which killed it in the Spring with the likes of Odesza, Chet Faker, and Tycho, returns to downtown’s Waterfront Park with a Fall line-up that offers something for every EDM fan.

Festival favorites such as Zhu, Miike Snow and Flight Facilities headline the two-day dance party, but what makes CRSSD special is the progressively curated line-up that showcases the diversity of electronic music, which is often mislabeled as being one note (sorry, but you won’t find Avicii here). Old school ravers donning fedoras and faded happy face tattoos will appreciate legends like Felix Da Housecat and DJ Harvey, while the tanned and toned in the glitter and glowsticks will be doing their EDM shuffle to British sensation Maya Jane Coles, Ninja Tune’s Bonobo and tropical house king Thomas Jack.

America’s Finest City probably only rivals Miami’s Ultra in being the ultimate party host for an outdoor (21 and over) EDM festival with its sunny weather, craft beer gardens, gourmet food trucks, ocean front views and sea of bikini bodies. Best yet, word is that this current lineup is just “phase 1” of the acts scheduled to perform.
