Friday 4: Ice Cube’s Son O’Shea Jackson Jr. Reveals If He’s Involved With Sequel Movie

Ice Cube‘s son has no clue who is cast in Friday 4. Following the movie announcement, O’Shea Jackson Jr. dropped a surprising admission about his involvement with the upcoming project.

In a recent update on X, the 35-year-old denied having any connection with Last Friday. Taking to his social media, Ice Cube’s son wrote, “I haven’t received any emails or calls from my agent about this project. I swear to God I will call mom.”

While the post may be a humorous take from the American actor, Jackson Jr. has several notable projects to his name. His performance in Straight Outta Compton garnered widespread attention, and his other credits include Den of Thieves, Longshot, Cocaine Bear, and Ingrid Goes West.

What else do we know about Friday 4 so far?

Ice Cube has been trying to begin Friday 4 production for a long time. The film took longer time than expected to enter production, and several actors who played important roles in the earlier movies have since passed away.

O’Shea Jackson Jr. said in 2024, per Entertainment Weekly, “I was a little hot because they took so long because, you know, John Witherspoon passed away, [Tommy] “Tiny” [Lister Jr.] passed away, A.J. Johnson passed away.” He further added, “Like, man, we keep losing people, and y’all keep dickin’ around, not doing the movie the way it needed to be done.”

The fourth film of the Friday franchise will be directed by Lawrence Lamont. Last Friday will be filmed in Southern California. California has a program that offers financial incentives to film productions to encourage them to shoot in the state, and Last Friday will be supported by the same. California production incentive program has provided New Line with $11.4 million for filming Last Friday in the state. The filming would reportedly take 40 days. 43 actors and 150 crew members will be involved in the production.
