Rocky fans have received some encouraging updates from Sylvester Stallone. In a recent interview, the actor shared the latest developments regarding Rocky 7 and another prequel film. The update comes as fans await news about his potential cameo in Creed 4.
In an interview for TV Insider, Stallone was asked about the status of any future Rocky projects and whether the actor would like to explore more with the character. The 80-year-old said, “I have written another chapter to the Rocky saga, but I don’t know if it would really be that interesting to most people. So, I just wrote it for myself.”
Moreover, the actor also teased that there could be a potential prequel to the movie. “There might be an opportunity for a prequel because I believe it’s fascinating to watch where these individual characters came from, and I have many ideas of how their paths crossed. During that particular period in time, the 1960s, there was a great transition happening in the country and in music and many other elements of society, so I would love to do that project,” the filmmaker said.
Stallone’s new Rocky story would focus on life beyond the boxing ring
Along with the Rocky updates, Stallone also shared his ideas on what the next franchise installment could focus on. During the interview, the American actor shared, “I think it would be a good opportunity to explore life outside the ring and how the world is changing around him, how his neighborhood is not like it once was, and how he devotes himself to the less fortunate.”
Sylvester Stallone recently starred in Season 4 of the Paramount+ crime drama series Tulsa King, which premiered on October 16, 2026. After playing Rocky Balboa in the first two Creed films, he did not reprise the role in the third installment, and his involvement in Creed 4 remains uncertain.
