Yelena Belova and Gambit may form an unexpected bond in Avengers: Doomsday. According to a new report from a trusted Marvel insider, the mutant and the new Avenger will have many scenes together.
During a recent Q&A session with his Discord and Patreon members, The Cosmic Circle’s Alex Perez was asked about the rumor of Gambit flirting with Yelena. Perez replied, “Gambit and Yelena will be in a number of scenes together, probably sarcastic banter rather than flirting.”
In Avengers: Doomsday, Florence Pugh plays Yelena and Channing Tatum plays Gambit. Although the duo will reprise their MCU roles, Doomsday will mark their first on-screen interaction together. That said, this is only a rumor and should be treated as such until Marvel Studios confirms.

During the Q&A session, Perez also revealed a surprising detail about Doctor Doom’s team. When asked about Namor’s absence in the promotion and merch, and whether he would be part of Doom’s army, the insider said, “Namor is not a part of Team Doom in Doomsday.”
Namor first appeared in the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Played by Tenoch Huerta Mejía, he was introduced as the ancient mutant ruler of Talokan, a hidden underwater civilization inspired by Mesoamerican culture. Marvel hasn’t confirmed his return in Doomsday, although fans have speculated about it.
Doctor Doom’s rumored army includes the Latverian Witches, Scarlet Witch, an alternate version of Doctor Strange named Boris, the Hulk, and Doombots. In Doomsday, a multiversal collision pits the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four against each other before they unite to defeat Doom.
The upcoming movie also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, and Vanessa Kirby, among others. The movie will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
