Sacha Baron Cohen reprised his iconic role as a television journalist from Kazakhstan to take a jab at his upcoming movie Ali G: Who Iz I? The movie has received a lot of criticism for portraying harmful racial stereotypes ahead of its theatrical release. In a new trailer, Cohen appeared as Borat Sagdiyev and turned the whole controversy into a warning.
The official synopsis reads, “After twenty years spent ‘chillin’, tokin’ and bonin’, Ali G is shocked to discover that his long-term girlfriend, Julie, is eight months pregnant. Faced with an extra mouth to feed, he gets off his batty and heads to America to reclaim his former glory… but soon encounters adversaries who will ultimately threaten his and his child’s very existence.”

What happens in the new Ali G: Who Iz I? trailer?
In the new trailer by Amazon MGM Studios, Cohen appears as the journalist Borat to report on the “dastardly” Sacha Cohen’s upcoming movie. The journalist says, “There have been reportings that this film is racist. We have seen it, and sadly it is not.”
Borat then goes on to narrate the premise of the new movie by talking about the three characters Cohen plays, and refers to them as “devils.” As the trailer nears its end, Borat says, “Kazakhstan is very angry by this movie film and will not show it in either of our two cinemas. We ask you please for the sake of decency and humanity, join in our boycott. We urge you, do not watch this movie film in the cinemas on October 23rd.”
Ali G: Who Iz I? will mark Cohen’s directorial debut. Morgana Robinson is taking over the role of Julie, who was originally portrayed by actress Kellie Bright in the 2002 movie, Ali G Indahouse. According to IMDb, Stewart Rodeheaver will also make an appearance as himself. Cohen also served as the producer of the movie, with Petr Jákl as executive producer.
The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 23, 2026.
