Chris Hemsworth is back in fight mode. The actor has shared new training footage from Thailand as Extraction 3 continues filming. The video shows him working inside a boxing ring with trainer Jack Boonsanong. He throws combinations, works the pads, moves around the ring, and also works on kicks during the session.
Hemsworth shared the footage on Instagram while shooting the Netflix sequel. He wrote, “Shooting Extraction 3 in Thailand and have been lucky enough to hit pads with my good mate @jack_boonsanong. Thank you, brother.”
Hemsworth is taking his fight training to the next level for Extraction 3
Hemsworth’s Thailand training has an MMA-like edge, with punches, kicks, and pad work featured throughout the video. The session also connects directly to his recent comments about wanting to test himself in a professional MMA fight. He has trained and sparred for years, making the latest work a natural fit for his physical preparation.
During a February 2026 conversation with Halle Berry, Hemsworth discussed the possibility of competing in an MMA fight. He said, “A part of me wants to have an MMA fight.” However, he admitted that stepping into a real bout could leave him “flat on his back, starry-eyed.”
Hemsworth has not confirmed that he plans to fight professionally. He has instead spoken about his long experience with combat training and his interest in the sport. He also named Georges St-Pierre and fellow Australian Alexander Volkanovski among his favorite fighters. The combat experience is helping him as he returns to the role of Tyler Rake in Extraction 3.
The MCU star is reprising the role of the former black-ops mercenary for the third installment. Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani are also returning, with Sam Hargrave directing again. Although the plot details are yet to be revealed, production already began in New South Wales before moving to Thailand.
Netflix has not announced a release date for Extraction 3 yet.
